The Ponto System
 We are delighted to introduce Oticon Medical, a new company within William Demant Holding established to bring the experience of over 100 years of cutting edge design and technology in hearing aids together with renowned experts and pioneers from the bone anchored hearing treatment sector. This has resulted in the exciting development of the Ponto bone anchored hearing system, which will be brought to the market in a phased launch to begin in autumn 2009. The Ponto System will add a new dimension to what is currently a very confined market. By ensuring an aesthetic and user friendly design and including the world renowned Oticon digital fitting programme, we are able to achieve our goal of giving wearers an individualised personal sound experience. Add to this the support and knowledge from a company that has brought people into the hearing world for more than 100 years and this gives both professionals and wearers confidence in both our reliability and reputation. The Ponto sound processors have a unique aesthetic design. They come in left and right versions with a shape that nicely follows the lines of the ear, and there are three attractive colours available to blend in with different hair colours. The controls are easy to use and the coupling is designed for maximum durability. The sound processors and abutments of the Ponto System are fully compatible with other currently available bone anchored hearing solutions. Ponto and Ponto Pro build on the same technological platform as Oticon’s most advanced hearing aids. The result is a sound processor with high sound quality and very advanced signal processing to start with, that may be further adapted to the individual hearing loss, preferences and lifestyle. It also has the ability to automatically adapt to the specific requirements of different listening situations. The Ponto range of processors will be available for both new and existing wearers. In addition to the range of sound processors, the Ponto System also comprises a safe implant system building on proven technology, but improved by a team of engineers with long experience from bone anchored hearing solutions. The system has been developed in collaboration with some of the most experienced clinics performing bone anchored implant surgery.
