Main Page

I am proud to advise you that BUSK is now guardian of this site.

We welcome you and hope that you find the information / support you are looking for here. If you find that it isn't, please do contact us directly, we will do our best to help. We liaise with surgeons, nurses, Cochlear / Entific (manufacturer of the baha), and other companies/charities who are involved with the needs of people with hearing loss.

The original patients baha site was founded by Paul James in the mid 1990's and we would like to acknowledge his work in developing this valuable resource.

It has been run by baha users, for baha users, with input from BUSK for the past three years. So for BUSK to take on the financial support of this site is a natural part of its evolution, as BUSK is also run by baha users for baha users.

We are all volunteers, most who use bone anchored hearing aids.

The purpose of this site is to offer a valuable resource for those who are current users, and those who have been advised by their surgeons that they might benefit.

Please be mindful when reading peoples own experiences with their baha's, that your own experience may differ. What you will see are reports from a persons unique perspective. Each person has unique hearing qualities with / without the baha. Their hearing loss caused by a wide variety of reasons.

No one can tell you that the baha is right for you. Only you can decide that. But do ask your surgeon / audiologist if there is a possibility of trying a baha on a headband. This will give you some idea as to how you would benefit.

Now, please feel welcome to look round this site.

There may be some photos in the patients diaries that you may find disturbing. Please do not let these affect you, they will have been taken very soon after surgery. The sites heal very rapidly in normal circumstances, and look completely different two weeks down the line.

We hope you enjoy your visit, and possibly will come again to share your experiences on the patients forum.

We welcome people who would visit regularly to look in and see if they are able to help those who leave queries on the forum.

Kind regards.
Lyn Kolsteren. Chairperson.
