Hello to everyone on this site, I cannot praise it enough, It has been a great comfort and help to me.

It was the first thing I logged on to after being offered a Baha, It gave me a great insight into what I would be facing.

If it was not for the site, I am not sure I would have gone through with it. The stories on the site gave me the confidence I needed. The very good tips helped me all the way through.
 
After being tested at Nottingham, which included putting a Baha between my teeth, the affect caused me to burst into tears, the sound was fantastic. I then had quiet a bit of a wait, about 1and half year's.

But then fully awake, I had the operation, it lasted 1 and half hours, no pain at all, hardly heard the drill, because I was laid on the ear that I have a bit of hearing in. Eating lunch 15 mins later.

Because of the distance I live from the hospital, I did have to stay in over night. But first thing next morning with dressing off, and plastic cap in place, I went home.

Ten day's later I had stitches removed, that's the second photo. The healing process went really well, I had started taking Vitamin B tablet's about 2 month's before operation, to help the healing process. And every time I went for a check-up.

They were dead impressed with the sight. There are lot's of funny story’s, that happened along the way, but I will save them for later, the third photo was taken 3 month's after the Operation.

The the last photo Was taken on 6th Jan 2004, when I arrived home from having my final fitting.

Word's could never explain the way I am now hearing, it is amazing, and I never really believed it could be this good. I have surround sound, the day after being fitted, I was at a meeting with 14 other people round the table. I heard everything, I became part of the meeting, and rather than sitting there trying to lip read everything.

And I cannot feel a thing, it is so light, I keep going to run my fingers through my hair, and bump into it.

I have only been using it for 3 day’s, but I seem to have a permanent grin on my face.
